Will a computer with a Blueray player and HDMI out, play true 1080 if I connect to my hi def TV?
I have a 1080 LCD TV, and wondered if I bought a laptop with a Blueray player, then ran the HDMI out of the laptop to the T will it play 1080? Didn't know if it played at 700p or a lessor value.

Yes, it will. If you buy the laptop that already has the blu ray burner, then the video card will support 1080p and you can use it on your TV also. Remember that the laptop resolution and the TV resolution don't match exactly, so there will be some overscan when you connect the laptop to the TV. For that reason I wouldn't want a laptop to be my primary source for bluray movies.
For a lot less money you can buy a bluray DVD player. They've come down to about $180
