Unable to charge laptop battery with new AC adapter?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. It is two years old. Over the last two years the battery power has decreased, but typically had at least two hours after I unplugged it from the wall. A few weeks ago, my AC adapter broke. I purchased a new one, but have now discovered that it will not charge the battery. Is there any way to change my settings so the new adapter will also charge the battery?
In general a laptop battery only have a useful life of about 2 years. By then the battery capacity would have degraded by like 25-35% and getting harder and harder to charge. Sounds like you've reached that point. Buy a new battery too.
