I've put my PS3 had drive into a Dynamode 2.5" HDD SATA/IDE case to upload to my laptop but...?
when plug into laptop the caddy is recognised but it doesn't recognise the hard drive in it. I'm expecting it to appear in my computer but nothing happens.

Its bc the ps3 uses a proprietary file format so that you don't copy games and such that could harm sony finance.
NO you cant connect the ps3 hdd to a computer and read it like it was windows, bc again its a hdd that is in some sense encrypted to work on that ps3. Its actually serial number base so you cant even put it on another ps3, that how cruel they are but hey who can blame them for watching over there interests
But if you want to use it on your computer or whatever you NEED to format it, but remember that if you do that ALL the information on the drive will get deleted FOREVER. You could either use windows format or if that doesn't work here`s a app that will.
