how do you upgrade a laptop hard drive?
my laptop currently has a 250gb hard drive but its full so i was wanting to upgrade it to a 500gb hard drive, how would you go about doing that and how would you transfers everything from one harddrive to another.

You will need some cloning software such as diskwizard - its free from the seagate website

you will also need an external caddy to temporarily mount the new drive,

you mount the new drive in the caddy and attach it via a USB cable to the laptop. Install and run diskwizard which will clone an image of the old drive to the new. It will resize the partition to match the bigger hard drive. You can then swap out the hard drives and the lappy should boot with the bigger hard drive.
