What is laptop battery wear level and how to decrease it?
I have about 10 months old acer laptop and the battery wear level was 17% and suddenly jumped to 23% (i used everest ultimate to find this out) What should i do?
Laptop batteries have a max number of recharge cycles. They lose capacity over time.
The expected lifetime of a battery is about 18 months - 2 years.
Heat kills them, keep it cool by using a laptop cooler.
Recharging them a million times kills them, so keep it plugged in as much as possible.
However, never discharging and recharging the battery is also bad.
Basically, run it on electrical power, keep it cool, discharge and recharge is every 1-2 weeks. That's about it. It'll still go bad over time.
Only other option is to fully charge it, then remove it, and run the PC just on electrical power, but that sorta defeats the point of a laptop.
When it dies, shop for one on eBay.
