Carry-on Bag, Laptop and Purse on Plane? Weight?
I have a carry-on duffel bag that has an expensive large camera in it, so I won't be checking it. The airline has lost my luggage before at Christmas so I have a sour taste in my mouth.
I also have new laptop and my purse. I can always stick my purse in the carry-on, but I'm wondering about a weight maximum for my carry on? Do they weigh my laptop bag with my carry-on or do they weigh them separately?
I am worried that if weighed together, it would exceed the limit. Separately I think I'll be fine.
It's American Airlines and the carry-on limit is 40 pounds but I wasn't sure if that was per bag or together
I don't think they weigh your carry-on items unless they suspect you have exceeded their limits. Check your airline's web-site for their specific guidelines. Limits may also vary based on the size of the plane.
I don't know which airline you're flying, but Delta says that only your carry-on bag must not exceed 40 pounds, while American is quite ambiguous, and British Airways doesn't state how much your carry-on weight limit is. It may help to just call your airline directly.
Good luck! (and check out my new web-site next week - www.TheLadyNomad.com)
