I am unable to install mandriva 2009 on my compaq laptop with amd processor.I successfully installed 2008editi?

You are using Mandriva 2009 Spring? The last beta (64 bit model) was garbage, but the Spring final is working nicely on my hardware.
It's the full DVD, or is it Mandriva One? I'd try using the full DVD before giving up.
To manimal347: Give 2009 Spring a try. It's the best Mandrake/Mandriva release I've run, and I've been running it since the 7.0 days. Hardware recognition is great, and it's not a resource hog like 2007 was.
