My Powerbook G3 screen won't display!!! Help!!!?
I have a Macintosh Powerbook G3 Wallstreet. One day I decided to switch the screen out with another computer of that model. I turned the computer back on to discover that the screen was black and didn't display anything. The apple on the back of the computer lit up, the screen lit up, but it was only black. The screen is getting power. I have tried reloading Mac OS 9 (fear of a driver issue) but that didn't work. Why won't my screen work!!! Please help me, I'm trying to sell the computer to raise enough money to go on a 1-year rotary exchange program.
EITHER:
(A) you failed to connect the little jumper cable that runs for the screen into the computer proper... (or it is not fully connected), or
(B) the connector that runs thru the hinge is damaged in some way, or
(C) the two screens (unlikely, but a distinct possibility) are not compatible. This often happens when a production change occurs midway thru the manufacturing cycle and you'll have to check the serial number of the screen and the computer against the compatibility charts that should be available thru MacIntosh's website.
There;s always the possibility that it's jinxed, but I'd go for the other choices first as ecsorscisim (sp?) is expensive.
Whatever... hope this helped.
