apple notebook?
Are these a better buy versus a regular windows operated laptop? like a dell or sony?? Im undecided about buying an apple or just a regular windows operated laptop. Does anybody here own an apple and if so how are they? are there more advantages to having an apple? I am mainly using it for school work and personal use. Thanx in advance!
Am writing to you from a Mac Mini, which is BYODKM (bring-your-own-display-keyboard-mouse)! Fantastic unit! I co-running OS X and Windows XP via Parallels and just love it! (Also own an Apple laptop which out-performs everything I've ever seen!) Startup takes just moments, running software is seamless and smooth, too! And as a home theater fanatic, Front Row lets me watch movie trailers right on my display.
I can download movies and music into my computer using iTunes, renting or buying, as the case may be. I can even enroll in a class which can be downloaded from iTunes U, sometimes for free or a nominal charge. And let's not forget the Apple Tip of the Week, a one-minute forty-seven second Podcast available for free!
Time Machine and Time Capsule let you store backups of your entire system and like a snap restore your system if it gets confused. Just tell it what day you'd like to return to and voila! Good as new.
Airport wireless allows a wireless connection throughout the house, and Airport Express lets me stream my music from my hard drive to my stereo for music anywhere in the house.
There is so much to tell you about! You can store all your music, photos, word processing documents, email messages, all within OS X! Spotlight technology uses metadata from the files to help you track all of your music, photos, etc.
For that "must-have, must run" software app that only runs in Windows, Parallels allows me to run Windows from my Boot Camp partition! Franklin Covey PlanPlus lets me journal and keep track of everything, but you can do the same with iCal calendar software! There is so much already included in with the operating system! These are the advantages of using an Apple computer.
I have an Apple MacBook, which is their consumer-level and educational platform for running OS X. Fantastic! It has a Mitsumi keyboard with keys that look like Scrabble pieces. The display is bright and clear, the performance smooth and reliable. Comes with OS X 10.5 Leopard, included.
