Help running an old game on a newer computer?
I just found my old Oregon Trail II game and was trying to play it on my laptop that I got earlier this year. It seemed to install alright but when I try to play it, an error pops up saying, "This product requires a video mode that supports at least 256 colors." I've tried changing the resolution but that hasn't done anything so does anybody have any suggestions? This are my specs just in case.

your screen resolution is not the problem what you need is the colors displayed to be changed... you can do this two ways...
first and probably best because it only effects your computer when the game is being played
1.Right click (on game icon) > Properties
2.Click (Compatibly) tab
3.Check the Run in 256 colors check box
4.Run The game
second and the worst case it effects the whole time untill you change it again
1.Right click the desktop > Properties
2.Display Settings
3.Color Quality - select(256)
4.Run the game
