Which ATI video cards would be compatible with my onboard CrossfireX card?
I have a Gigabyte Motherboard (GA-MA785GMT-UD2H) with onboard ATI HD4200 w/ CrossfireX. I was just wondering if someone could let me know which cards would be 100% compatible with my onboard video for the CrossfireX. I have been doing my own research but a lot of people are saying a lot of different things. I like the HD 4350 but again, dont know if it would be compatible. Any help would be great. Thanks!
I believe to run crossfire, you need 2 identical cards. That means you need a HD4200 card. I've seen comments about Hybrid crossover, using similar cards that have the same GPU, but you would have to research it a bit more.
I found this one comment in one forum:
Sorry but the 4350 and 4550 have 80 stream processors while the onboard video only has 40. Thus you can only hybrid SLI with other 40 stream units like the 2400XT 3470 and 3450.
