Is the small town hotel responsible for damages to my laptop?
We are staying in a small family owned hotel in small town, TX. When I was on my computer this morning everything was fine. I left the laptop on the desk by the bed and left. When I returned the cleaning lady had already cleaned the room. I opened the laptop to find a small crack in the LCD screen! I'm thinking that it must have been smashed or knocked over when she was making the bed. Is the hotel responsible for the damages? This hotel does NOT have a safe of any kind.
Likely not. Most hotels have disclaimers posted visibly in the lobby or at the bottom / back side of your receipt.
If you carry travelers insurance, you might be able to get your insurance company to reimburse you the cost of getting a new screen.
