Has anyone read a book called The Blue Notebook by James Levine?
I read it and finished it in one day. It's an amazing book and it was about an Indian girl that was sold into prostitution by her father and she wrote it all down in a blue notebook. But I was curious about why her father did this. It takes place in Mumbai. Is this actually true in real-life? That a father would sell her daughter? In the book they had a great father-daughter connection and this happens. It doesn't say why he did it.
Unfortunately, yes, things like that do happen in real life.
If you're looking for a similar book to read, then I'd recommend Sold by Patricia McCormick.
