Fashionable alternative to a school satchel?
Hi,
I'm looking for a over the shoulder satchel for school. Up to now I've had the usual patterned backpacks but now I want something smarter, something that mightn't neccessarily be immediately identifiable as a school bag. I'm tempted to look for brown leather satchels, but I'm open to any other ideas. I want the bag to be large enough to hold a lot of books, and strong enough too-maybe the size of a laptop bag, but with more room. I don't mind bright colours, though I guess toned down would be more 'grown up'! As a student I haven't got a big budget either. Also, it's important that the bag doesn't look like a handbag-so heaps of ruffles or folds or soft fabrics are out! What shops/online shops should I look for my bag in?

Start looking at "man-bags" They are usually quite practical, and in general they are more durable and robust because guys are so rough with their gear. Some of them look a bit gay, but some man-bags are quite appropriate for student life.
