CUSTOM BUILD I installed xp pro/ no prob. but need help with booting sequencehelp}?
So I built a pc, and have built many, it is a asus motherboard, 3.2 processor with 1 gig of ram DVD/CDrw I also installed a Geforce 5200 graphics card, I installed win xp without a prob. everything was fine , but IT was not reading my ram correctly so I decided to format and do a fresh install, it would not let me boot from cd, I tried going into bios and changing boot sequence, then when restarting it tells me to change boot sequince and try again, I have tried inserting both xp and vista and restarting, which normally will take you to press any key to boot from cd, nothing is working, I have switched the boot sequence in bios over and over and no results. Please give me any suggestions! thanks! 10 pts to help me solve this
very interesting........... reset your bios to default which in return should still give you no memory for your ram. if you're not hearing any beeps from your machine after its turned on then you may have fixed the problem if you dont hear any beeps and still have the ram error, then you have the incorrect memory or you have a bad memory stick, as a last fail safe, take out your ram and put it in another slot then reboot and try that, again if this doesnt work you need some new ram.
