What is the cheapest laptop computer I can get? Does it pick up Wi Fi very good? ?
Does a laptop pick up Wi Fi signals by some kind of special motem? Are some motems more capable than others? What is the cheapest laptop I can get? Can I get a good one for 4 or 5 hundred? If so where?
Laptops that have wireless cards in them, connect with wireless routers. These routers can be connected to cable or DSL modems to provide internet access to any computer that connects to them. The speed at which you are able to surf the net and download is dependent on the internet package you purchase from your Internet Service Provider... the people who provide you with the modem and internet service.
http://www.geeks.com has some Wireless capable laptops for just under $300. They are Dell Latitude D600's and such. They are good enough for basic internet and office application usage. http://www.newegg.com has some newer ones for around $400 and up.
