should i buy a new computer or just upgrade?
I have a Compaq presario v5305wm Notebook computer. running Windows XP media center, but it is Vista capable,it can hold 2gig of ram,and it has a ati radeon xpress 200m graphics card.

my question is, should i just add the 2gigs, plus windows vista,then get the 256mb 8600gt nivdia geforce graphics card like i want, (it might be named something else for laptops,please correct me if i am wrong) or should i just pay 822 dollars for this dell computer that has everything im trying to put into my laptop computer.
( i dont really care for windows vista, but i am mostly wanting to upgrade or buy a new comp for the sims 2 plus all of its expansions,even other games if my system can run them and i know sooner or later their games will require directx10, so either way i am trying to get a graphics card that is compatable with directx10,so what should i do?
well you cant upgrade gpu's in a laptop, so first thing you cant get a new video card, and you cant upgrade your processor either, so if you are getting it to play games, get the new one, because the ram will help you run the game and the internet at the same time fast not make the game look better. buy the new one if its for games, if its only to surf the web and run text aps, then upgrade.
