Laptop Power Cord not charging all the time?
My power cord for my laptop has become loose. I guess it's more the outlet that it goes into the computer. It can be plugged in but if the computer wiggles it stopps charging even though it's still plugged into the computer. Does anyone know of a way to fix this...I'm at the point where I don't care if it has to be permantly attached. It's an IBM ThinkPad, don't know if that matters or not.
I had a Sony Vaio and the same problem happened after about 1.5 years.
It sucks, and the most common problem is the computer. Usually the little stick thing that attaches to your power cord just...dies. I had to wiggle mine, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. It usually costs a pretty penny to fix it, and it's worth just buying a new laptop.
You could take it in just to be sure that's the case, but more often than not (Im not sure about IBMs), the little..stick thing (sorry, i have NO clue what it's called) is attached to the motherboard...and there is nothing to do there, except replace it.
