I am using dell d630 from 6months suddenly it shows that battery is not charging what can I do?
I pull battery out and press in then starts laptop it shows battery charging after one day it shows same
Am I right in saying this laptop has a battery test button on the bottom? When you press the test button on the bottom of the laptop do all the lights come on? If all 5 lights come on then the battery is fully charged. When you power up the laptop with the adapter still in, it boots ok but when you take out the power adapter the laptop powers down. Then when you press the test again there are no lights is that right? You need to check the battery status in the BIOS, will it allow you to recalibrate? There does not seem to be a listed fix for this though it is a known problem seen on the Dell forums.
The battery should be covered by the Dell warranty if it is only 6 months old, normally they will only warranty batteries for a year so change it now rather than later. Phone Dell support and ask if there is a known problem and is there a specific fix, I have not seen one listed but have seen several reports on battery errors so they should be aware of something
