How do I connect to my router with a dell laptop?
I just got a new dell studio laptop with windows vista. I can't get on my home network. I type in the WEP, then it says I'm connected, but don't have access to the internet. My old laptop worked fine, and this new one did fine with unsecured networks.
try connecting your laptop to the router with a cable and see if you can go online. If it works, then try removing the security key from the router and try going online. if that works, then create a NEW security key and try again. Ideally, you would want to use WPA2 encryption since WEP is easily defeated.
