My HP Pavilion dv5 laptop screen always fades black.?
While using my laptop, the screen will randomly fade black, and suddenly turn off. It has been doing this for almost a year now and I cannot figure out how to fix it. Can someone please tell me how to fix this, or at least why it does this?
Probably overheating. When was the last time you opened it up to clean the dust bunnies from the fan and heatsink fins? Should be done at least once a year (preferably twice). And NEVER use it on soft surfaces such as beds, pillows, carpeting, sofas, or even your lap. This blocks air intake and exhaust vents.
