Do I need to change both the region on my laptop and on my external DVD player to watch other-region DVDs?
If so - how do I change the region on my laptop? I did this last year but I can't remember how I did it. I have about 2 changes left.
My laptop is a IBM Thinkpad X31. The X31 laptop has a DVD player in a removable base. Because I don't own the removable base I use a plug-in external DVD player instead.

Most laptops will let you change the region only 4 times, you're best bet is to get a program like AnyDVD this will remove the encryption and region settings from DVDs
