My buddy has a Compaq Evo D320 and put a CD/DVD burner in it and Nero?
But when it plays movies it is real choppy does he need a video driver?? or can I change out his OS to WXP Media edition That will have Media center on it.
Choppy videos are usually the result of three things...
1) Burning while another application is running. The more applications that are running, the more processor threading is needed. The slower the processor, the choppier the video. When Windows threads programs, it prioritizes the programs. Therefore, since video burning applications are not critical processes, it is not ranked in the top for threading. Be sure that no other applications are running at the time of burning.
2) Low memory. If you are burning on a computer with low memory, then the video will be of poor quality. If you are running videos on a computer that has low memory, then it will be of poor quality. The memory does not have to be system memory, but could be video memory as well.
3) Codecs. Be sure that you have the proper codecs installed.
