CDRW and DVDRW drives only show during the POST some of the time and when they do the boot process freezes?
when they do show up the boot process only gets to the screen that says Windows XP and has the little green loadong bar below it, and it will stay there forever and no lines go across the bar. So I hit reset and my 2 IDE drives show and my 2 SATA show but no IDE2 primary or slave register(optical drives) it then goes to the screen that is black and white and gives you the 5 choices,start normally, or last known good configuration. so I go with the last known and everything works fine. But 4 or 5 days later beetween 4am and 7am it just shuts off. Never when I am working,or on it but only using power saving setings or the screen saver has been running, all brand new thermaltake hardware,so lets pretend it not any hardware problems, and I have an APC battery backup w/ surge protection that can go for an hour w/out power,and it tells me when it does a contorlled shutdown, and its not that,can anyone help????
Could be in your power saving settings the hard drive is turned off witch often can create problems.
