my emachines laptop makes an anoying sound when i insert the charger. How do I switch it off?

Is this an annoyingly loud beep when you plug in the charger?
My Lenovo used to do that. Go to Control Panel and select Sound, then in the Playback tab select the sound device and click the Properties button. Select the Levels tab and you’ll see some volume bars, mute the one labelled PC Speaker and then reboot the machine. This should turn off the system beep without affecting the stereo speakers used for playback of media files.
