I've bought a VGA cable to connect my Emachines laptop to my LG tv, but when i connect i cant get a picture?
I have connected the cable to the laptop and to the TV, but after that i don't know what to do. Ive tried pressing Fn and F5 to pick the right connection, but even when i do that i can't get an image. Any help please? Thanks
Easiest way to do this is as follows:
1) Right click on the desktop and select 'Properties'
2) Choose the 'Settings' tab in the window that appears.
- There should be two monitors that appear in the window.
3) Click on the monitor with the number '2' on it
4) further down the window tick the box that says 'Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor'
5) Click 'apply' and the second screen should appear with your desktop on.
you can then drag things to the right of your laptop screen to move them over to the second screen. Or you could tick the 'use this device as the primary monitor' in order to have your TV as the main screen for the laptop.
When you disconnect the TV your display settings will revent back to normal.
