My dog wont eat his treats he tries to bury them?
I give all of my dogs a Greene's every morning. My female chihuahua is on the lite small and my 15 year old poodle and 2lb. month old Chihuahua is on petite. Well everyone starts chewing it while i get ready for work but from the second i hand it to them the small Chihuahua starts trying to bury it. I was just sitting at my dinning room table on my laptop. My chihuahuas sit on a pillow on the table and i handed him his treat and he tired burying it in on top of the table. Then he put it in the flower center piece. And tried hiding it with a bag of chips and when that didn't work he used the remote. But he wont eat it. He will bury it ALL day if i let him. What is his problem?
He ate his greenies for a while and then just stopped, cause i tried feeding him his greenies that he didnt eat yesterday today. I mean the poodle eats his, i have had him since i was 5 and now that he is 15 and only has 5 teeth i figured he would have problems. But he loves them. Why wont the chihuahua?
lol - the same thing happens with my Shiba Inu. Its weird because he will eat other food, but not the Greenie. Instead, he will always try to hide it. He gets really stressed and frantic when looking for a hiding spot.
Now I only give him the Greenie at night in his crate. He will eat it there. Maybe its because he feels safer there, and knows that no one (i.e. the other dogs) will steal it when it is there.
