Connnect sata hd to laptop?
I have seen a 40pin ide to sata convertor for connecting a sata drive to a desktop ide slot, i have also seen usb to sata, is there a any way to connect a sata drive to a laptops ide slot but keeping the laptops ide drive in as well?

Well not normally. What is the model of your laptop?
Well, put it this way, if it's a new laptop capable of holding 2 HDD's it should have a SATA connector. As yours is IDE...I'm guessing its too old.
You are better off buying an external hard drive module you can put your IDE HDD in, with a usb 2.0 connector on it and doing it that way.
