how to find out if stock hard drive, win xp, and dvd/cd-rom's an oem or a retail.?
i'm about to complete my build but only if my rom and hdd's a retail so i can switch it to the new computer that i'm building instead of buying new ones.
how do you find out if your stock parts are oem or a retail? thanks
I bought my computer from bestbuy
just fyi...just cuz you may have oem products doesnt mean you cant put them in a new computer....in other words are these products chained down to the old machine? no they are not. ive used oem versions of windows on several different machines when in truth it means i can only put it on one....its a gray area...
and yes there is a way to figure out if you have retail or oem and thats through the products SN#
