How can I install MS-DOS to my empty HDD?
I recently formated my notebook's hdd, and now I want to install a new OS. As I don't have a working CD-ROM nor floppy disk, my only option is to put setup files on my empty HDD, and access them by using MS-DOS, which I want to install it.

MS-DOS is an OS. You will still able to find it on the web. When you have DOS installed in your computer, make sure to create folders with a maximum of 8 characters, because DOS won't be able to open those folders.
You will be limited with DOS if you don't know all the commands. Ill suggest you to get the commands before you install it.
Get a USB Key to install from it, instead that buy an external HDD that you will plug by USB.
You will be much better with Windows 2000 or XP or Windows 7 if you have a recent PC than the OS DOS.
You also have Ubuntu that you could install on your computer. Very similar to Windows XP (open Source) so it's free. It's the most friendly user OS from Linux.
