why did the library security gate alarm when i walk through with my laptop?
I have a HP laptop and it was in a swiss gear notebook case. Also i didn't have anything from the library in it! Also could the security gate damage my laptop?
These alarms are designed to detect security tags that are "tuned" to a specific frequency. Sometimes, certain other types of electronic devices (such as laptop computers or cell phones) can contain circuitry in them that is also "tuned" to the same frequency, thereby fooling the alarm into thinking it is seeing a tag when you walk through the gate.
No, the security gate won't harm your computer in any way (unless the alarm scares you and you drop it
