My digital pictures have been partially greyed out after rotating, how can I bring them back?
I just got back from a trip. I have 2 x 2GB SanDisk SD cards. When I got home I put the SD cards into my SD slot in my laptop. While viewing them I rotated them in "Windows Picture & Fax viewer".
Everything was fine until I stuck the cards back into my SD slot in my laptop this morning and now the pictures that I rotated have a partial grey banding that covers part of the photos.
Now the photos look like they are incomplete - not loaded correctly. The thumbnail image is o.k. when exploring the file folder but when I double click the picture to be fully viewed they come up all messed up.
Is there a way to get them to come back?? I have loaded the files onto my computer now and still have them on my SD card just incase something can be done.
It seems like something could be done since by the thumbnails it looks like the pictures are perfect and all the information is there but not when they are blown up in the preview window in Windows.

You made these changes on the card? ... don't ever do that again.
The work flow is thus:
* copy all your images from the memory card to your computer
* make a backup of all those images to a CD (or DVD if you have that many)
* once you have all your images safely on your computer and CD, format your memory card so it is ready for your next shoot.
* when you make ANY change of your image, ALWAYS, Save As ... using a new file name so you do not overwrite your original file.
Maybe you can save those images by doing the following:
^ Do not use the memory card until ...
^ Buy a new card and us it until you can ...
^ Buy or find an image recovery program and see if you can
save your images on the card.
