Can an american woman wear a Saree and a bindi without being disrespectful to the Indian culture?
I love the Indian culture, from the music and films down to the dress. Is it considered disrespectful to wear a Saree and a bindi even though I'm neither Hindu or from India?
So many wonderful answers! Thank you all for your input.
It is not necessary that one has to be Hindu or Indian to wear saree and apply bindi. If you are of any other cast or creed and from any other country, you can wear saree and apply bindi if you desire. This is certainly not disrespectful.
