Why are my laptop speakers not working?
My internal laptop speakers are no longer producing any sound of any sort. My control panel shows that I have no audio devices connected. I've checked and double-checked all of my settings and they're all correct. Also my computer is running dreadfully slow, mini-crashing every time I so much as right click. If it changes anything headphones were not involved in the problem at all, they just started cutting out while listening to iTunes. Any and all help would be appreciated!
This is going to need diagnosing step by step.
I'm afraid the only thing I can recommend first, is:
1) Press ctrl-alt-delete
2) Click on the "processes" tab
3) Click on the "CPU" heading
4) See what process is consuming the most CPU and report back
5) Click on the "Memory" heading
6) See what process is consuming the most Memory and report back
Also give the model and make of your laptop. Also how much RAM it has, and how much *remaining* hard drive space.
