Just a thought question, on harddrive compatibilty?
Ok, I have just purchased A dell latitude d600 from dell it refurbished, and I have a Mac notebook with abusted screen, this little kid kicked my case and busted th screen any way I was wonder if I can get the HDDrive out of the Mac with is being deleted reformatted would it work on a dell notebook with windows xp installed, reason i am doing this is the HD on the mac is 20 gigs larger and I wanted to create more partitions for another OS, Just and Idea, never hurts to ask, I might learn more
I know dell is a SATA drive user, will just have to check the mac HD, ill have to check the interface as soon as if figure how to break in on the mac
Check the specs on the MAC hard drive and see if the interface is the same as the DELL.
There are basically 2 interface types - IDE and SATA. As long as they are the same on the two computers then the drive will work fine. If they are different then the physical connector is different and you can't even plug the HDD in.
