Which Laptop/Tablet should I choose or should I even choose one?
Hi everyone. So here's my situation. My brother has a Dell XPS 1530, and he is giving it to me for graduation. It's really heavy, has the extended battery, and not the most portable thing out there. It's more of a desktop replacement. My parents want to get my either a newer Laptop that's lighter, or a Tablet PC that has a swivel screen so that I can write my notes on it, no smaller than 13.3" screen and have reasonable power, maybe i5 or i7 Chips. Any suggestions for these are welcome, and thank you in advance. (Secondary question) Should I keep the old laptop, still powerful though, or upgrade?
My recommendation is the Apple MacBook/ MacBook Pro 13.3/15 inch. They have just been refreshed with all new chips and the battery life is just amazing. The 13.3 inch has inherited the multi-touch touchpad found on the Pro models and is one of the top laptops students choose because it comes included with iLife and is just a powerful computer. The 15 inch Macbook Pro has the i5 chip, automatic swappable graphic chips (it has 2 chips, that switch to meet the demands while conserving battery life), and OSX (which is easy-to-use, stable, and beautiful). They both have one of the best and most confortable keyboards available (the Pro having illuminated backlit keys). These two laptops last the ENTIRE day (10-hour battery), very thin, very light, and made of solid unibody construction; it feels good in your hands. They are top choices on cnet.com and pcworld.com.
