How can I tell what is slowing down my laptop?
My laptop has 2.4 Ghz... what, then, can be slowing down my laptop so much? I only have 3 things on the system task bar, I'm a very computer literate person when it comes to software... but when it comes to hardware, I feel like a goon. Any suggestions welcome...
I'm software smart...
Nothing on task manager is slowing it down....
It's something hardware. =(
But what else determines speed?
Also, if you're on DSL and your DSL modem isn't equipped with a firewall your computer is taking the load from port sniffers and that kind of stuff. If you've a software firewall or not, that's the case with a broadband connection, which is why a hardware firewall is so important on one. Dialup does just fine with only a software firewall.
