How to make a wifi hotspot at home ?
I have a laptop and a 3G modem for internet. So I have an internet connection on my pc.
I also have a wifi router . I want to connect my laptop to the router and share the internet that i use with the router so that I make wifi at home. Can someone help me?
I am using windows vista.
Very easy, assuming your laptop was built in wi-fi or WLAN (wireless Local Area Networking)
- most manufactured in last 8 years or so do. You should have an icon on the bottom that looks like a monitor. Right click on this and click on open Network and Sharing Center. Your home network should pop up as an available network. This might appear as 2Wire234 or something like this depending on the name. Click on the name and then click Connect. You will be prompted to enter the key. This is usually a 10 digit number if using WEP encryption but could be longer depending on the type of network security you are using. You can find the key on the modem, usually on the bottom or back of the device. Check the setting to automatically connect to this network when available. Click the rest of the prompts and thats pretty much it.
