What does the program SSMMgr.exe do? Could it be causing my problems with Firefox?
Sometimes, especially when I reopen Firefox after closing it, I think it is running but I can't see it. All I see is the desktop. I can solve the problem by rebooting, and always get the message that SSMMgr.exe is not responding, followed by the message that Firefox is not responding.
I am using windows XP professional on a six-month-old Dell Vostro 1710 laptop with nominal 4G RAM.
SSMMgr.exe is a Samsung printer monitor, it's not affecting Firefox. When you close firefox and try to reopen it, sometimes the program is still running. In order to fix that, bring up your Task Manager, via Ctrl+Alt+Del, go to processes, and end the firefox.exe process. You don't have to reboot. If you, by chance, don't have a Samsung printer, then there's the slight chance SSMMgr.exe can be a virus in disguise.
