how can i secure my laptop and printer at college?
I have a a sony vaio fw series and a hp photosmart D7360. The laptop has a kensington port but the printer does not.
In terms of the printer, I'm not so sure about that. Maybe you can buy some strong adhesive to create the illusion that it's bolted to whatever surface you have it on (for those that try to lift it away).
In terms of the laptop, sure you can use a Kensington lock (I didn't know the FW had that). But on top of that, I would get LoJack. Look here:

I know my sister told me a story about her friend's roommate who was a kleptomaniac. Long story short, the klepto eventually got kicked out, but took my sister's friend's laptop with her. A few months later, the girl, back at home, turned on the computer, and the police soon busted the door down and got the laptop back.
