has anyone ever used an airport express base station?
what is the apple airport express base station like. does it have good range and do the speeds reach high standards?
how does it work?
do you just plug it in the wall and connect a ethernet cable to it and a laptop???
i currently use verizon dsl and a belkin router for wireless internet, i want to replace the belkin with the airport, is it possible since the airport only has like 3 ports???
This is more than possible. The new Airport express in 802.11n compatible (and backwards to a/b/g) which means that it is compatible with the most advanced and fastest wireless networking devices available. It plugs into the wall and just looks like a power supply. Plug the ethernet cable in and install the Airport utility from the provided CD. Once the open the program it will guide you through the network setup, which is quite easy. You can plug a printer into the USB port and share a printer over the network, and connect a stereo to the audio port and you can wirelessly transmit your music from iTunes to your stereo.
The Airport Express supports 10 users at a time and has a good enough range for most apartments. I use one and I love it. Unlike many other routers, you never have to restart it because the network gets slow. It's worth the extra money.
