The Notebook

DescriptionWhen you consider that old-fashioned tearjerkers are an endangered species in Hollywood, a movie like The Notebook can be embraced without apology. Yes, it's syrupy sweet and clogged with clichés, and one can only marvel at the irony of Nick Cassavetes directing a weeper that his late father John--whose own films were devoid of saccharine sentiment--would have sneered at... |

Sony Vaio Z, FW, or AW?
I've narrowed down my choices for a laptop for college to these three. Below are the main differences, and any input on which would be best for a college student this fall would be great.
Z:
13.1" screen, 2.66 GHz, 4GB DDR3, 9300M GS
6-hours Sony-rated battery life
FW:
16.4" screen, 2.93 GHz, 8GB DDR2, Radeon Mobility HD 3650
5.5-hours Sony-rated battery life
AW:
18.4" screen, 2.93 GHz 4GB DDR2, 9600M GT
Battery life between 1-3 hrs
The FW is the cheapest of these, even when everything is at the highest configuration, including Blu-ray read & write. So the big question there is also whether or not a solid-state drive is worth it.
Also, would going all out with 2.93 GHz and (in the case of the FW) 8 gigs of RAM be overkill, considering the GPU isn't powerful enough for gaming anyway? (Rephrased: would a 2.66 GHz be fine since the graphics card will probably be the gaming "bottleneck" anyway?)
