I just bought a laptop! Do I need any accessories for it or do you have any advice for me?
I got a Gateway MX6956 Laptop Computer - Intel Centrino Core Duo T2050 1.6GHz, 80211a/b/g Wireless, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, DVD RW, 15.4" WXGA, Windows XP Media Center, Refurbished. I only spent $500 on it.
Do you think I got a good deal?
Great deal on the laptop. You don't really need any accesories. There are a few things every laptop owner should have.
1: A Carrying bag
2: a mouse (if you don't like the touchpad)
3: Backup external harddrive (Just in case)
4: A USB numberpad if your laptop's keyboard doesn't already have a built in numberpad.
5: an extra battery
These things, however, aren't vital. Dont feel like you NEED them, they are just good things to have.
Also, if you don't already have one, you should also get a wireless router. Allways helpful if your computer is wireless.
Have fun with your new laptop!
(Edit to add advice) Be sure to keep all vents on the bottom, back, side, wherever they are located free of obstruction. Unlike in the comercials most people see, you should NOT have the laptop sitting on your bed unless you have something solid under it. That blocks the airflow from the bottom.
