Is it cheaper to buy all the parts to build a destop computer or just buy one? Laptop?
I want get a laptop or a desktop but i need to know what would be cheaper. Im fairly experienced in fixing computers, what is the best way to go?

You can build a kick booty desktop computer cheaper, than you can 'build' a laptop.
Question is, what do you wish to do with the laptop?
I indicated that the "You can't build a laptop" answer was partially erroneous. This is because Many people do not know about the
Asus C90s, and the Asus C90P.
These are 'barebones' laptop's. You have to buy and install the processor, ram memory, harddrive, and GRAPHICS CARD.
That's right! I said Graphics Card!
These laptops use the Intel Core2 Duo DESKTOP processor line.
They have a Desktop processor socket (LGA 775) on the motherboard.
They will support Intel Core2 processors, from an Intel Core2 Duo E4300, all the way up to an Intel Core2 Extreme Edition X6800!
Asus C90s will support 3GB's of DDR2 Sdram (SO-DIMM) ram at 667Mhz.
Asus C90P will support 4GB's of DDR2 Sdram (SO-DIMM) ram at 800MHz.
I have seen 320GB Sata harddrives offered as one of the harddrive options.
The best graphics card, I have seen offered so far for the Asus C90s, is the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB's of DDR2 graphics ram.
For the Asus C90P it's the Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT with 256MB of DDR3 graphics ram.
(1.Don't get the desktop model of the Nvidia GeForce 8600GT, mixed up in technology with the above laptop {Mobile} models. These graphics cards have more graphics power, than a desktop model.
These graphics cards are specially built for the above laptops. They are MXM modules)
Put either model of the Asus laptops above, together with some decent high performance parts, and the price tag will run about $1300.
This type of build will rival laptops that cost about $2500 to $3500.
The barebone laptop units come -> Stock, with:
1.Fingerprint Reader. Large touchpad.
2.Built-in 2.0 Megapixel webcam. (Built into the Top/Middle LCD screen frame) Tiltable, and has FaceTracking Feature. You can enable it or not.
3.HDMI port on the side of the laptop. (Connect a large screen to it)
4.e-Sata port. (Side) Connect external Sata drives to it.
5.Built in Bluetooth. Enable it or no.
6.Has 3 USB 2.0 ports.
7.Comes with a Dual Layer, SuperMulti, DVD Combo drive. Play and burn CD's and DVD's. There are HD drives, and BluRay drives available.
8.Built-in, 8-in-1 Card Reader.
9.Gigabit LAN port.
10.TV-Out port
11.VGA port
The list goes on and on.
These are Upgradeable laptops. That's what makes them so unique.
No longer does a person have to buy, what they could afford at the time of purchasing, and be stuck with it. You can buy better components later, as your budget deems!
