Laptop getting very, very hot. [ Compaq v2000 ]?
Basically, my laptop gets very, very hot at the back end of the computer ( The air vent? It shoots out air. ) I've already cleaned out the fan of my computer, and the air vent. But it seems that didn't work, and it's still getting very hot. It's gotten to the point to where the only way I can use my computer is to let the back end or the left side of my computer hang off the desk a bit so it doesn't overheat (?) and shut down. And even then, when I use it like that - it still overheats sometimes at normal room temperature ( Maybe a bit over.)
Can anyone help me out?
Recommend me a cooling tray or something, or any alternatives to fixing this problem?
Thank you,
Mark x
Thanks everyone.
It sounds as if your thermal compound is losing its integrity. pop over to newegg.com and order some artic silver. You'll need to open the laptop and remove the cpu heatsink to remove the old compound and apply the new.
