HELP! I messed up my philips CDRW DVD SCB5265 Device Driver?
All day I have been trying to get my D610 Latitude Dell Laptop to read DVD-ROMS. I finally figured out that I needed to do something with the driver, which is Philip CDRW/DVD SCB5265 ATA Device Driver. I've just uninstalled the device driver and now I don't know how to reinstall it. Any help on how I can reinstall it as well as getting my computer to read the DVD-ROM? Also, my computer was originally made for XP and I installed Vista on it myself and forgot to update the drivers, this is why it wasn't working in the first place.
Thanks so much, but I've been presented with another solution of wiping my hard drive since it has both xp and vista on it and reinstalling xp. BUT, I don't know where my XP discs are, is there any way I'd be able to reinstall XP without the discs?
Go to the Philips web site and see if they have drivers for the DVD for Vista. If not, go to the Microsoft site and see if they have a driver that will work. This is an issue with Vista. There aren't drivers available for many of the devices out there. Some companies simply plan on never producing a Vista driver.
