No Sound On TV through Laptop?
Ok, I have an Acer Aspire 5000. (5002wlmi) I am trying to hook it up to my tv. I have the VGA cable, and have a perfect picture, but no sound. I have went out and bought a "stereo "y" adapter", on yellow one red, and the other to the headset jack on the pc, that doesn't work. I then went and bought a Digital audio coax cable, which also does not give me sound. Any idea's??? The stereo adapter should work right?
You need to make sure you have connected it up to the correct audio input. Each audio input is paired to its video input, so you may have the video connected via PC Input but the audio connected to the AV input.
Most TV's that have a VGA input (other wise known as the PC Input) will also have a PC Audio in, this is usally a 3.5mm stereo jack the same as the headphone out on the PC. Very few use the stereo RCA inputs with the PC VGA input but check your TV user manual.
