how can I cut small pieces of copper sheet without bending?
I need to cut 1.2mm thick to 1.8mm copper sheet for my laptop heatsink I use a garden cutter and it bends it a bit
I need a tool I can buy under 50 pounds ($100) that either automatic or manual but cuts the sheet without bending so I can use the small pieses for my laptop processor. the surface needs to be flat
cutting from 1cm and more squares ? any links for the product would be nice, like ebay or uk
How about way under $10?
Copper is soft. You can cut it with a hard knife blade drawn along a straight edge repeatedly while the copper rests on a flat wood surface. There may be a slight burr from pushing the copper down, but that can be taken off with the touch of a file while supporting the copper on the edge of the board.
1.2-1.8mm is 0.475 - 0.071 or from just below to just above 1/16" (in my terms) This would be about my upper limit for cutting by hand, but I have cut sheet brass, which is harder, this way.
