Buying a Mac for the first time! So I have a few Questions...?
Buying a new laptop always gets to me... However I've decided to switch to Mac!
I have had a difficult time figuring out what software comes with the MacBook Pro 15". I'm going to get iWork instead of Microsoft Office. Does iLife and Snow Leopard (its the OS so I would assume it does) come with it?
Are there any other necessary purchases? AppleCare?
Or should I just wait for the next upgrade? Due sometime in early 2011.

Glad to hear that you're switching to Mac!
First off, iLife comes with Snow Leopard, but iWork doesn't. You made a good choice, however, in choosing iWork over Office, because iWork supports many more formats, like the Office format. iWork costs around $100, depending where you buy it.
AppleCare simply extends your warranty. I have never had a Mac computer break, so I wouldn't buy it.
Also, the next upgrade isn't until the summer, when Lion is released. I would buy a computer with a little extra RAM to prepare for that, but don't bother waiting.
