Getting a new laptop - What's better, Intel Centrino, or an Intel/AMD Dual Core?
I'm looking at laptops, and I see different processors.
One that I like has Intel Centrino and the other has AMD Turion™ X2 RM-72 Dual-Core Mobile Processor
The Centrino laptops are more expensive, so I'm assuming they are the better processors? Am I right?
I don't care about the difference about Intel or AMD, which one is better, just wondering about the difference between Centrino, and a Dual Core.
Centrino is a dual core.
The term Centrino defines an entire intel platform.
If you're going to be using it for standard usage (Writing Word Docs, Checking Email, Surfing the Web, or light gaming) then neither is better. They will both perform equally as well.
Intel has the edge when it comes to graphics capabilities for things like photo shop.
AMD is better for data throughput for things like databases.
